Evangelism is sharing our Christian faith, but should we do that? Should we talk about our Christian faith? Should we be prepared to give an answer questions that people have? And what about those Christian that are too insensitive, too brash, too clumsy? What if you are not comfortable sharing your faith? We cover all of these questions and more in this weeks Livestream as we carry on our look at the Alpha series.
Who is the Holy Spirit? This is a great question especially as Christians believe that He is as much part of the Trinity as God the Father and Jesus, yet He is also the least understood part of the Trinity. Today, John is going to kick start a two part mini series in our Alpha Course, looking at the Holy Spirit. This is part 8 of the Alpha Series.
What does it mean when God guides us? It's a question we all want to know the answer to. In this weeks online church livestream we hear four stories that highlight four different ways that God guides us as we dig deeper into this whole topic in conversation street.
This week we look at how to read the bible. The bible is one of those books that we all know about but where do we begin? In the talk, we tackle one of the most common questions we are asked: how to study the bible? After the talk, we chat about your questions about this whole topic including the important question we all have: is the bible reliable? Is it really the word of God?
It's week five of our Alpha series and we're asking the questions like How and Why do we pray. Prayer is normal for a lot of people, even those that don't really have a faith but why do we do it? We'll be hearing from some friends who will be sharing their experiences of prayer and how this builds their relationship with God.
This week, Sharon asks who is Jesus? What evidence do we have for Jesus? What claims did Jesus make about Himself? And, should we actually care if He was just a historical figure? Sharon also tells her own story of how she had to come to a point to make her own mind up about Jesus.
There are questions about life we all share (‘Is this it? Where have I come from? Where am I heading? Who am I? What’s the point of my life? Is there any real meaning and purpose to life?’). There are common objections to / preconceptions about Christianity (it is boring, untrue, irrelevant, dangerous). Anna is kickstarting a new Alpha series for us this week and starts by looking at all of these questions.
We are looking at the trial of Jesus and see how people pleasing pleasing caused men to abandon their values, destroyed the leadership of one man and caused hundreds of people to be manipulated in to doing stuff that was fundamentally wrong.
