Here’s a summary of this week’s sermon:

  • At the Feast of Pentecost, a sound like a strong wind filled the whole building and spread like wildfire through the disciples’ ranks.

  • People from all over spoke in different languages as prompted by the Holy Spirit.

  • Peter preached and 3000 people believed in Jesus and were added to their numbers that day.

  • Jesus had promised this before he left to ascend back into Heaven: He would send them another advocate - The Holy Spirit - who would teach them all things, give power to be His witnesses, and run the engine of Christian life & faith for believers forevermore.

  • Today God still gives us His Holy Spirit; it is responsible for some extraordinary personal experiences with God, peace when times are difficult; gifts such as wisdom & discernment; fruit such as love, joy & self-control; even miracles on occasion!
