Let's be honest, the church is often seen as a place that is old fashioned, irrelevant and well, just plain boring.
But we believe church can and should be different because Jesus is definitely NOT old-fashioned, irrelevant and boring. In fact, He is the exact opposite of these things.
So our mission, here at CROWD is to be church for those that might not see the point of church, for those that 'find God elsewhere' but who are looking for answers to live a meaningful life. We are a church for those who are looking to be inspired because Jesus is the most inspiring person that we know.
We are a community, a safe space to explore faith and a place where you can contribute and grow.
CROWD church is part of the Frontline Church family, but it is a little different. We aren't a church that meets in a specific location, we don't meet in a specific country, we don't meet in a specific building. We are, in fact, an online church - and specifically, we are an online church for those that don't see the point of church. We've had people from all walks of live, just like you, and from the four corners of the globe connect with us. It's absolutely fantastic.
We are quite a new church. Actually, we started as a small church plant at the end of 2019 in liverpool, here in the UK. But then the pandemic hit and we moved our church service online. And do you know what - we quickly discovered a penchant for doing digital church. And it quickly grew - which was amazing. So we decided to just do online church going forward - and here we are.
We want CROWD to be authentic, a bit raw and real. But most importantly, a place where we could simply meet Jesus. So here are our guiding principles.
We don’t have smoke machines or big worship teams, scripted schedules or crazy big TV studios. We love churches that do that - but we know that’s not us. We celebrate the diversity of the Christian Church and believe that everyone can find their place but we also acknowledge that we are just starting our own journey. The truth be told - our Sunday Livestreams can be a bit, well, raw because that’s what family is really like. And whilst we can dream of bigger budgets, better equipment and lasers our heart is to show you, Jesus, first. We will figure out the other stuff, possibly, down the line.
This just means that we love God’s Word and we really want to understand what it means for us in today’s society. Jesus made an incredible statement: you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free…God’s Word is truth. That’s why we want to dig into His Word - it brings us life and freedom that nothing else can.
Traditionally, churches have had buildings and congregations and coffee and all that good stuff. Being a digital church feels a bit different, a bit edgy because it is not the normal way of doing church. And that’s OK. We’ve found our place - digital church and we are OK with straying from the default.
Yup! Community is definitely in our DNA - and we would love to be a part of a growing, thriving community, online and offline. You are welcome at CROWD. Really. It’s true. Diversity is part of God’s creation, and we need each other’s ideas and insight into the goodness of God if we are to grow. It doesn’t matter if you have been a Christian for 80 years, or indeed even if you don’t call yourself a Christian. Single, in a relationship - it doesn’t matter. We don’t care about your ethnicity (in fact we love to learn about different cultures) or your height or weight. We are not even bothered about your score on the perfection meter. If you are a person, who is alive - then you are welcome here.
We want to be a church for those that don’t see the point of church, for those that think church is irrelevant. We want to be a church for those that ‘find God elsewhere’. Our church should be a community where you feel safe in exploring the Christian faith, a space where you can ask your questions, engage in respectful debate and to discover how Jesus really is the key to a meaningful life.
Frontline is a modern, vibrant, friendly church that started in 1992 when two small churches merged together. From those small beginnings, Frontline has grown considerably to around 800 men, women and children. The core values of discipleship, mission, and the church as a family have played a significant part in this growth.
That founding vision and DNA has remained the same over the years and our passion is still to see people’s lives ‘transformed by grace’.
Frontline is a church that gathers together at various times and in various places. Our services are relaxed, casual and fun. We gather together to celebrate and experience God’s transforming power in our lives. We do this through inspirational music and song and through a relevant and engaging message based on the Bible.
