One Church, Two Ways

When we say "In Person + Online = Crowd", we mean it. We're one church family that just happens to meet in two ways. It's a bit like having a local and long-distance family - different postcodes, same connection.

How We Actually Do This

Sundays Look Like This

The evening kicks off at 6:30pm when our Liverpool crew gathers at Frontline Centre. There's acoustic worship, proper coffee, and real hugs as people settle in and connect face-to-face.

At 7:00pm, something beautiful happens. Our online family joins (some still in PJs, and that's fine), and the energy shifts as our whole community connects. The chat lights up with hellos from around the world as worship continues, with both communities engaging in their own way.

Then comes the magic. The teaching speaks to everyone, wherever they are. Conversation Street becomes this amazing space where online and in-person voices carry equal weight. Questions and insights flow from both communities, creating this real-time interaction that makes distance disappear.

After the service, small groups happen in both spaces - some hybrid, some online-only, some in-person. WhatsApp groups buzz with continued conversations, and relationships form regardless of postcode.

But Is Online Church "Real" Church?

(Spoiler: Yes)

What makes Crowd different is that we're building real community, not just sharing content. Our online hosts aren't just moderating chat - they're building relationships. Small groups meet throughout the week (time zones considered!), and life happens between Sundays through WhatsApp, calls, and meetups.

We don't prioritise one community over the other. Resources, pastoral care, and leadership attention are split equally. When we make decisions, both communities matter. When we plan events and activities, we think about everyone.

And participation? It's genuine. Online members serve on teams. Leadership includes people from both communities. Your location doesn't limit your involvement. Ministry happens through screens as much as in person.

Who This Works For

Maybe you're hopping between cities and want to keep your church family while you settle. Perhaps you work Sunday evenings and need to catch up with the recording and join a midweek group. You might be a globe trotter wanting your church to travel with you, or someone who finds leaving the house hard sometimes.

Living in Liverpool? Choose what works best each week. Joining from overseas? You're as much a part of this as anyone. Just curious about faith? Explore at your own pace, in your own space.

The Tech Stuff

Yes, we use technology, but it's not about the gadgets. It's about connection. You'll need YouTube or Facebook for the livestream, WhatsApp for community chat, and Zoom for small groups. A decent internet connection helps. That's it. Really.
