A season of Dreams - Christmas 2020
In our kick-off Christmas Livestream we get straight into the festivities! We've called this one the season of Dreams because the Christmas story of Christ seems to be shaped by them, especially for Joseph (the father of Jesus), who has to decide whether or not to take on, look after, and support as his own, a baby that was not his own child. Now available on Catchup.
Why we changed the name of our church to CROWD Church
Wherever Jesus went, it seems crowds would gather around him. The crowds could be small, or they could be large but the folks that made up the crowd were all divided in their opinion about this Godman. So how did Jesus deal with the crowd? What was his MO? And what can learn from that for our own digital church? Well, this week, Matt unpacks why we changed the name to CROWD church, what the purpose of the church is and what some of the core principles are.
Church and Politics: How should Christians engage?
In this week's Livestream Jenny Mariner tackles the topic of politics! Oh yes! Very apt at moment given the recent US elections that is for sure. Jenny will carry on our journey in Mark's gospel and looks at how Jesus deals with this topic of politics, asks should we mix religion and politics, and how should Christians approach the topic of politics?
Parable of the Tenants: Leadership is all about stewardship
The parable of the talents ask us lots of questions about stewardship and leadership. How well do we steward the gifts that we have to help those around us grow and develop? How well do we steward the gift of life that God has entrusted to us? What is our response to that? Join in our Church Livestream as John Harding looks at the Parable of the Talents and digs into these questions and much more.

How to deal with difficult People | Mark 11:27-33
Have you ever had to deal with difficult people? They look to build themselves up at your expense, maybe even ridicule you. They are ... well, just plain old difficult to deal with. Well, you are not alone. Jesus had the exact same problem. So how does He deal with them, and what can we learn from that? What can we learn about how to deal with criticism, how to deal with haters and how to deal with difficult people?
Overcoming Adversity Part 4 - Learning how to forgive totally changed my life | Mark 11:20-26
Overcoming adversity - part 4. The power of forgiveness is something that we talk a lot about in the Christian church. Christ forgave us, so we can and should forgive others. And it is no coincidence that Jesus talks about forgiveness at the end of our mini-series on Overcoming Adversity.
Overcoming Adversity Part 3 - The secret to getting prayer answered? | Mark 11:20-26
Overcoming adversity - part 3. When it comes to overcoming adversity, we often find ourselves praying and asking God for help. But does that make sense? Does God even care about my prayers? Does He even listen? And if He hears me - will he actually do anything? This week we take a look at what Jesus says about prayer, and how we can know what God's plan for our lives is.
Overcoming Adversity Part 2 - Face the truth and stop living in denial | Mark 11:20-26
Overcoming adversity - part 2. If positive thinking isn't the answer (what we talked about last week), then what is? What is Jesus' strategy for overcoming adversity and obstacles? This week we carry on looking at Mark 11, where Jesus tells about mountain-moving faith...but it's not what you'd expect!
Overcoming Adversity Part 1 - Why the power of positive thinking isn't that powerful | Mark 11:20-26
We all have obstacles and adversity to deal with - heck, we are in the middle of a pandemic that is affecting us all. So how to do we overcome such things? Well, the standard answer is just to think positively, be optimistic, see the glass as half full..but does that really work? Or does Jesus have some other advice to give us?
Is it OK to get Angry? Tips for dealing with anger | Church Livestream | Mark 11:15-19
We all face situations which make our blood boil. How are we to respond and did Jesus really get angry? As we look at this encounter with Jesus clearing the Temple, we see that even Jesus gets angry and yet never sinned. Indeed it is not our reaction that matters but how we respond that's important.
Transformational Leadership: 4 ideas to help you be a better leader | Mark 11:12-14
We are all leaders, irrespective of our job title - which is handy, as this week we are talking about Transformational Leadership and how Jesus brings out 4 unusual lessons that will really help us take our place and lead. For instance, we see what Jesus and the Friends TV set have in common, as well as why, in this instance, talking to the plants didn't actually help them grow faster (it had the opposite effect!). As I said, unusual lessons...so come and join in the Livestream and join in the conversation.
How did a humble carpenter become the greatest King of all time? | Mark 11:1-11
Church Livestream: Who were the greatest rulers in history? Google throws out some interesting answers, but what about you? What does a great King look like? What does their Kingdom look like? If you were to write a novel chronicling the journey of that King, what would be included in the story arc? This week, we look at how Jesus entering Jerusalem turns all of those ideas upside down, signalling to the world around that he is a new kind of King, starting a new kind of Kingdom.
Negative people and a blind man’s unique way of dealing with them | Mark 10:46-52
Have you ever had to deal with seriously negative people, energy vampires that suck the life out of your rather than helping you move forward? Well, in this week’s Online Church Livestream, we are going to look at the story of a blind man and understand his unique approach to dealing such people (spoiler alert…this guy is actually a hero of mine).
Who encourages you to do stuff that scares you? | Mark 10:32-34
The journey with Christ doesn’t always feel safe. There are times when we have to confront the reality of what is in front of us, and we need people to help us find the courage to face our fears. In this weeks message, we look at a pivotal point for Jesus and the disciples. They are about to enter some dark times. They don’t feel safe, and they are confronted with the overwhelming reality of what is about to happen. Do they face their fears? Or do they walk away?
Why We cannot buy our way into Heaven | Mark 10:17-31
A rich man approached Jesus asking Him about heaven and in this week's session, Abi is going to look at the relationship between wealth and the Kingdom of God, and answer the question of why you cannot buy your way into heaven as well as how our money and other idols (gods) can hold us back from all that God has for us.
Why did the disciples stop the children coming to Jesus? | Mark 10:13-16
On the whole, parents want good things for their kids. And we see this in the time of Jesus too - as mums and dads kept bringing their children to Jesus so that He to bless them - a good thing, right? So why did the disciples scold the parents for doing this? What do you do when Christian ministers seemingly are pushing kids away? It’s a great question…so we thought we ask someone, an expert in being a kid, their opinion on the matter.
Marriage, Divorce, Remarriage, Singleness | Mark 10:1-12
At the time of Jesus, there were some crazy ideas about marriage and divorce (that often resulted in a bad deal for women). Jesus deals with these issues head-on and talks about what Marriage is actually about, why people get divorced, explains the exceptions to the no divorce rule and validates singleness…it was a busy day for Jesus…and it is just as challenging for us today.
Getting to the heart of the matter: character issues that leaders must deal with
Jesus is getting the disciples ready for the next chapter of their story - leading the church and carrying on the ministry of Christ. Before that can happen though, Jesus needs to help the disciples deal with some key issues in their own lives. And these are character issues that all leaders must deal with. So join us in this week’s Livestream as Dave Connolly leads us through our study in Mark’s Gospel and we see how Jesus gets to the heart of the matter.
